The Agility Edge League Rules, Terms and Conditions 2015

Now Claim Points for: BAA and FAB Shows

CONTENTS:

The Agility Edge League opens for entering points from 1st January 2015. Points gained at shows on or from Thursday 1st Jan 2015 until Thursday 31st Dec 2015 will be awarded. Points may only be awarded for dogs OVER 18 months of age (i.e., no points will be awarded for dogs entering Nursery-type classes).

Points are given for clear round top 10 places gained at qualifying shows, where awarded by the organising show. (Points may only be claimed for places that are awarded. E.g., if the show only places to 3rd, for example, then only those places may be claimed for.  Rounds with faults are not awarded points, even if a place is awarded by the organising show.  At UKA these would be noted as "non-qualifying" rounds.) 1 point will be awarded for unplaced clear rounds.

NOTES for the above table:

*Please note that only UKA Qualifying runs count for EDGE points. I.e., EDGE points may only be claimed if UKA points are awarded for a run. (Non-qualifying runs do not count.)

The categories above, marked in orange are non-selectable. They are automatically populated based upon a handler’s age in the case of Juniors and Veterans and upon specific shows and classes in the case of Steeplechase and Elite, and your dog’s breeds for ABC.

Standard Dogs
Dogs that measure between 431mm and 500mm and that are eligible to run in Standard classes at UKA and FAB can choose to compete in the Large League or the Standard League at the beginning of the points year. This cannot be changed until the following points year. Dogs competing in Standard at UKA may enter points gained in Large classes at KC; dogs competing in Large at KC may enter points gained in Standard classes at UKA. Winning dogs in the Standard category will be measured unless they have official UKA measurement.

Points gained in Medium height at BAA by dogs measuring over 500mm are not eligible.

Medium/Midi Dogs
Dogs competing in KC Medium and UKA Standard may claim points for places gained in both heights.

Dogs that Compete at KC shows

If your dog already competes at KC shows, enter its current grade (unless you are in the 25 day "moving up" period, in which case enter at your new grade), regardless of the level you compete at UKA, BAA or FAB (if you do compete at these unaffiliated shows). Your points will continue to be assigned to this grade throughout the points year, even if you win out.

Please note:

  • Dogs eligible for Grade 6 and above at KC may NOT claim points for Novice Grade UKA classes, BAA classes lower than Graduate, or FAB classes lower than Senior
  • Dogs working in Grade 7 at KC may NOT claim points for Senior Grade UKA classes, BAA classes lower than Masters, or FAB classes lower than Senior

Dogs that only compete at UKA shows

If you have only ever competed at UKA with your Agility Edge League dog and it does not have a Kennel Club Grade, whatever your Performance Level is when you first join the Leagues (i.e., Jumping, Agility, and Games level, not your Steeplechase level) will be the Performance level that you keep all year.

If you compete in UKA Beginners or Novice Performance and have not won into Grade 3 with any dog, your points will be allocated to Grade 1. If you compete in UKA Beginners or Novice with this dog and are eligible for Grade 3 at Kennel Club Shows, then your points will be allocated to Grade 3.

If you compete in UKA Senior, whether or not you have won into Grade 3 with any dog, your points will be allocated to Grade 4. If you start competing at KC Shows and winning points, please let us know.

If you compete in UKA Champ, whether or not you have won into Grade 3 with any dog, your points will be allocated to Grade 6. If you start competing at KC Shows and winning points, please let us know.

Club Leagues

All Agility Edge members can assign their points to the club of their choice. It could be your regular training club, or it could be a personal league that you've created with some friends. You can assign different dogs to different clubs, but each dog's points can only be assigned to one club. (i.e., Rover's points can only go to one club; Fido's points can only go to one club.) You cannot change clubs mid-year.
